I hate novels. The whole idea of trying to map out characters, plot sequences, mood, setting, timeframe, blah, blah, blah.

If I were to write a story about baseball, what would it be?

A Christian becomes a Buddhist in the process. Connect baseball with religion...then with America...then with Buddhism.

What is "the game"? Economics, the origins,

When asking what the game is, we must ask, "What is the meaning of life?" Can something be interpreted from a scorecard? A game?

Someone finds a scorecard and then chases the root.

Many cannot find the patience within themselves to patiently watch and score a baseball game. I, on the other hand, can think of nothing more enjoyable. In fact, if I am not recording the game I feel a sense of guilt that borders obsession. If I could record each pitch, study the patterns of play and even add soundbites to each stroke of the pen, I would. Ever since I was a kid I have had a sense that soon things would pass away, the players would be gone, the field, and this game.
